Courtney Epps Takes Center Stage at TedX Ocala

November 21 07:12 2020

Ocala, FL, USA – November 20, 2020 – TEDxOcala brings together ideas and interesting people from around the world and around the corner, including the inspirational words surrounding social business with Courtney Epps, best selling author of “What’s Your Plan B? Why You Would Have to be Brain Dead Not to Own a Home Based Business.”

This year’s theme was Voice and took place at the College of Central Florida on November 7th, 2020. Epps took to the stage with a presentation on The Voice of Common Sense; “Why You Would Be Brain Dead Not to Own a Home Based Business.” Epps is passionate about helping American’s cut their #1 expense, their tax bill, with a home based business. “Most families could free up over $4,000 in tax expenses,” explains Epps.

TedXOcala Curator, Manal Fakhoury, explains that “Our willingness to take time to listen to ideas that may influence our perspective and help us spread those ideas is key. TED is very much about engaging communities and thought leaders to make our world a better place. The talks this year sparked conversation, creativity, and community.”

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that brings people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDxOcala, where x = independently organized TED event, hosts TEDTalks video and live speakers combined to spark in-depth discussion and connection. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including TEDxOcala, are self-organized.

In addition to her TedX accomplishment, Epps has recently hit two massive milestones – earning both her Ph.D. and IRS Enrolled Agent Credentials at the same time. Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards and, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.

Epps is also the owner of OTB Tax, where they empower small-to-medium-sized businesses and families to have a more comfortable and less taxing life. They do this by teaching tax minimization strategies, offering financial consulting services, and creating a wealthy-minded community.
